Election of the Steering Committee 2026
Use your right to vote! Voting is open from May 20 to June 2, 2026.
Over the next two weeks, you can elect the new representatives from your stakeholder group to the Global Health Hub Germany Steering Committee for the 2026–28 term. The new Steering Committee will officially begin its work on July 1, 2026. With the exception of representatives from governments and their subordinate agencies, all Hub members are eligible to vote and may cast up to two votes within a stakeholder group. Previously, the Steering Committee was composed of equal numbers of women and men (one woman and one man per stakeholder group).
The Steering Committee amended the bylaws at the beginning of the year. Going forward, the following rule applies:
1. If two women or non-binary individuals each receive the highest number of votes in their stakeholder group, both will be awarded seats on the Steering Committee.
2. If this is not the case, the female candidate with the most votes and the male candidate with the most votes will be elected to the steering committee, as before.
The Election Process
The election will be conducted via the POLYAS online voting platform. All members eligible to vote received an email containing relevant information at the start of the election period on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. You can access the POLYAS voting platform here.
You are eligible to vote if you became a member of the Hub by May 17, 2026, at the latest, and belong to one of the seven non-governmental stakeholder groups. These include international organizations/experts, youth, foundations, think tanks, business, academia, and civil society. The parliamentary group has a different procedure: its representatives were selected by the members of the German Bundestag’s Health Committee.
The Candidates
35 candidates were nominated during a nomination phase lasting several weeks and have accepted the nomination. We asked them to answer three questions about themselves and their goals within the Steering Committee. Read the candidates’ collected answers here.
