Uniting to Combat NTDs is looking for a Communications Officer from October 2021.

Uniting to Combat Neglected Tropical Diseases (Uniting) is a partnership which advocates and lobbies for increased funding for neglected tropical diseases (NTDs). The mission of Uniting is to create political will and an enabling environment for countries to achieve the World Health Organization’s 2030 roadmap goals to control, eliminate and eradicate NTDs. We are hosted by Sightsavers and offer a great place to work.

Communications and campaigns at Uniting to Combat Neglected Tropical Diseases (Uniting) focus on increasing the recognition and relevance of neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) in global and regional agendas, ensuring resources are committed and available to NTD programmes, and working with partners to build greater engagement on NTDs to encourage commitments and action.

To this end, Uniting’s Communications Officer is responsible for supporting the implementing of the communications strategy, supporting the delivering effective campaigns to achieve resource mobilization and policy goals, and running Uniting’s channels (including our website, newsletter and social media). The Communications Officer is also responsible for reporting back on success metrics of campaigns and activities to track effectiveness and inform future strategies.


Required experiences:

  • delivering communications projects and/or campaigns
  • understanding current trends, tools and best practice for communicating effectively
  • designing and implementing effective social media strategies, including organic and paid social
  • creating compelling content to influence agenda outcomes and/or change behaviours
  • using content management systems
  • setting up and delivering newsletters
