POSTPONED: LSHTM-Charité Global Health Lecture Series: AMR: stemming the rise and spread of drug-resistant infection
The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and the Charité Berlin Global Health Lecture Series brings together experts and scientists from the UK, Germany and further afield to talk and discuss pressing global health issues. The topic of the lecture on 1 April, 2020 will be "Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR): stemming the rise and spread of drug-resistant infection".
Prof Dame Sally Davies, UK Special Envoy on Antimicrobial Resistance, Prof Heike Brötz-Oesterhelt, Chair of the Department of Microbial Bioactive Compounds at the University of Tübingen and Prof Jyoti Joshi, Head of South Asia at the Center for Disease Dynamics, Economics & Policy (CDDEP) will give input and insight into the state of research, talking about multi-disciplinary approaches including the ‘One Health’ approach to tackling antimicrobial resistance. Prof Veronika von Messling, Director-General for Life Sciences at the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, will chair the event.
The lecture will be held in English and will take place at the Saarländische Landesvertretung (In den Ministergärten 4, 10117 Berlin).
