Major challenges for global health in a post-COVID-19 world
The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM), in collaboration with the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine & Hygiene, is organizing an online event on "Major challenges for global health in a post-COVID-19 world" on January 16th, 2021.
Organizer: Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine & The Royal Society of Tropical Medicine & Hygiene
Join LSTM Director, Professor David Lalloo as he talks to Sir Jeremy Farrar, Director of the Wellcome Trust and Tom Kariuki, Director of Programmes at The African Academy of Sciences, about the challenges humanity might face when, not if, the next pandemic arrives. The event will be hosted by the Guardian's Health Editor, Sarah Boseley.
As recent events have shown, pandemics do not respect geographical boundaries. A globally focused effort is needed to combat the next major health threats to humanity amid the complexities of climate change and globalisation.
During this webinar, how a coordinated effort from the global health sector, policymakers, international agencies, and communities will help address new and emerging challenges we face in a post-COVID-19 world, will be discussed.
